"You can’t have everything but you can have a tongued velvet kiss beneath tall cedars and oaks flushed with new leaves…the brush of summer on honeyed skin…You can have the fragrance of lavender and lemon thyme crushed between your fingers." ~Sher Christian "Sher Christian's poems will have you taking off your clothes and basking in the sun coming through your window-winter or summer-in no time at all. She unfurls her hair, tantalizes languorous limbs with promises of wet love. Hot for Her embrace, I hike through dappled shade, dive into crystal pools. Her cool caress slides over sun-kissed skin. I slip through bubbling rapids, glide over shining rocks, a Yuba kelpie, mermaid tail flashing sunlight on water. Drenched and renewed, I climb upon huge rocks, soak breast, belly, muscle, and bone with stored heat that ousts winter’s dreary blue, restores dim inner fires to deep radiance. The Yuba Goddess water-kisses, tingles fingertips to toes. The heart of every cell calls Her name. Fresh exhilaration adorns me with splashes of light as She dances through even the hidden dark of me in revels of the River Goddess.
