PAULINE CORMIER A wonderful story for young children. It is a hard-covered picture book. It encourages: confidence, concentration, discernment, imagination and delight. "Can You See Her?' is fun to read and it will assist the educator or parent in accomplishing the following: Children learn to be kind and get along as they follow the adventures of Bobby and Suzy. The large font and easy to read vocabulary make it easy for kids to follow the story. The movement from page to page keeps the reader's interest. Motivated or interested children try harder to read independently. This builds confidence as they master the story. In the story, Suzy is sad because her doll is broken and Bobby is sad when he loses his ball. However, all's well that ends well and the story ends on a happy note. The range of emotions in this simple story allows parents and teachers to discuss and explore feelings with young readers. "Can You See Her?' is a visual puzzle. Daisy, Bobby and Suzy's little doggie, is hiding on every page and has to be found. Kids develop concentration and discernment skills as they search. A squeal of delight indicates that Daisy has been found. It's a bit of a mystery too, as Suzy never shows her face. You have to guess what she would look like. Kids love it as they stretch their imaginations while happily drawing their version of Suzy's face. The illustrations are simple and childlike to better approach the child. They encourage kids to draw their own versions of what happened without worrying about the quality of their drawing. You can read more about my accomplishments at my web site.
