'The Doppleganger's Pass' - Short Horror Story - A Medieval Fiction

  Young Aldrick is a boy with many doubts on his mind. Orphaned long ago,     
Aldrick now rides with his adoptive father. Hadden. They lived and journeyed 
together with a merchant caravan of about twenty people.
  They trusted a voice of promise, and journeyed towards a secluded city that 
could bring them wealth. They disregarded the ghost stories that haunted the 
mountain pass. They put their faith in the security of numbers. But, something
devious, something unseen, was about to corrupt them, one by one. And only 
Aldrick could see them coming.
  He became haunted with visions, and witnessed the unexplainable in his 
dreams. In order to prove to the others of the predators that stalked them,
he had to first believe his own mind.
  Now, what was to be a trip through the mountains to a city of riches, has 
turned into a horrific nightmare.  Aldrick soon realized that nothing is as
it seems through the Doppleganger's Pass.
