The Adventures of Annie Mouse is a series of four picture books by ANNE M 
SLANINA, Ph.D. : 
Annie Mouse Meets her Guardian Angel (2004),Baby Brother Goes to the Hospital
(2007), Annie Mouse Meets a New Friend(2008), and Where the Rainbow Touches 
Ground (2010). All books are intended to be read WITH children to help guide 
their understanding of emotions and language. 

In Annie Mouse Meets Her Guardian Angel, Annie is a shy, quiet mouse, with a 
frazzled,mother. Because of her mother's yelling, Annie believes her mother 
doesn't love her. Her guardian angel appears and reassures her. This is a 
book to open communication between child and caregivers. (Illustrated by Lisa 
Akers Slanina) 

In Baby Brother Goes to the Hospital, Annie believes her brother is sent away 
because he cries too much. She doesn't understand that "better" is NOT the 
opposite of "bad" and is angry at her parents for punishing the baby. This 
book is a reminder that all children in the family are affected by what 
happens to one member of the family and will often develop fears and anger 
based on misunderstanding adults' language if no one takes the time to 
explain what is happening. (Illustrated by Alicia Agnew)

In Annie Mouse Meets a New Friend, the new friend is a blind mole and is not 
accepted at school. Annie has to decide if she is to be a true friend or go 
along with the kids who are bullying the mole. A good book to help children 
learn to deal with bullies and the value of true friendship. (Illustrated by 
Lisa Akers Slanina) 

In Where the Rainbow Touches Ground, Annie hears the story of the pot of gold 
at the end of the rainbow and takes it literally. She goes out searching for 
the pot of gold and gets lost while chasing after the end of the rainbow. 
When daddy finds her, he helps her to understand that love is more precious 
than any pot of gold. (Illustrated by Alicia Agnew)

The series can be used as bibliotherapy as well as enjoyed between parent 
and child. All four books are a useful resource for libraries, schools,
