This $7.00, 124  page softbound book  (12  illustrations) was published in
October 1994 by Genassist Publishing  located in Aurora, Colorado.  "We are
not born knowing how to be parents."  That in a nutshell motivated the
Wexlers to produce this up to date guide for parents to be, both eager and
anxious.  They cover every important question regarding diagnostic techniques
and results, and pay special attention to the latest technology and 
parental issues.

The authors guide the reader through lab tests, the use of ultrasound, even
common questions about insurance.  "One of the most painful and difficult
times is when the joy of being future  parents is burst by the prospect of an
abnormality."  That's always a possibility, and the Wexler's deal with it
sensitively but honestly.  They include a Family Genetic Profile form for
parents to complete and its easily removed to share with their health care
provider.   A very caring, informative and modern look at issues facing all 
prospective parents.
