the late John H. Griffin, author of several notable books of fiction, and 
his most notable book, non-fiction...the book "Black Like Me"   Slow of 
Heart received a nomination to the Texas Institute of Letters fiction award 
for l989 and received many excellent reviews.  It is set in Haiti and deals 
with the effects of the Duvalier Regime on the Haitian people.  If
