This page explains SFF Net's billing procedures. Last update: 25 February 1999.
What's the billing period?
Our billing period runs from the first through last day of any given month.
What payment options do you have?
You may pay monthly, quarterly, or annually. You may pay by check or
credit card. (We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and Amex.)
If you choose to pay by check, we will send your bill to
your email address. If you pay by credit card, we will bill your
credit card automatically each billing period (once a month if you
selected monthly, once a quarter if you selected quarterly, or once a year
if you selected annual payments).
When do recurring charges go through?
We bill your account on (or after) the 15th of the month, for the period
beginning on the first of the following month. This means you pay a bit
in advance. Your July payment would cover August, for example.
What does the first charge cover?
Your first charge is applied immediately. If you are paying by check,
we will wait to open your account until we receive your first payment (unless
you make other arrangements, or we tell you otherwise).
If you are paying by credit card, we will open your account and make
the first charge.
If you open your account on or after the 16th of any month, we will
waive the charges for that month and apply your first payment to the
following month. If you open your account on the 1st through 15th,
your first charge will apply to the month you opened your account.
This means, for example, that if you open your account on August 3rd,
you will be billed on August 3rd for August, and August 15th for
September.
Do you charge for returned checks?
Yes. Our bank charges us, so you have to make up those fees. If your check
bounces, you will be charged $25.00.
Refunds & resignations
If you voluntarily resign your membership, you may be entitled to a
refund of some or all of the fees you have paid but not yet used. It
is important that you resign before your next billing date
(the 15th of any month if you pay monthly, or the 15th of the month in
which your quarterly or annual payment falls due), if you want to
avoid charges for time you may not end up using. Refunds are given for
whole months paid for but unused, as long as the amount is greater than
one month's fees.
If your account is terminated or suspended due to violations of SFF Net's
Policies & Procedures, you are not entitled
to a refund.
