Jason Carter is an experienced actor with a long career on both sides of the Atlantic (see his IMDb listing). From his role as Ranger Marcus Cole on J. Michael Straczynski's Babylon 5, Jason has acquired a loyal and enthusiastic fan following, not just in the U.S. but anywhere the show has aired.
Harry Potter fandom has become huge on the Internet, and so has talking about Harry Potter. When the announcement that a feature film series would be made from the extremely popular novels, many media-minded fans' thoughts turned to casting -- and promptly to Jason Carter. Although many 'superstar' names have been bandied about as fantasy casting, no other British actor who has such excellent cross-Atlantic exposure has had his name brought up quite so often in serious discussion.
