And, I just got back issue #5 from the printer (first issue in about a year), so we're back in action, and it looks like we're in good shape to continue. I'll be at Worldcon . . . so I suppose I'll see some of you folks there." [SFRT4, Cat 14, Top 8, 3 Aug 98] =Chameleon Publishing= June Hubbard, editor of Chameleon Publishing, sent some more information on the two ghost story anthologies. The guidelines for both are somewhat liberal - 500 - 6000+ words, deadline 9/30/98, payment on acceptance of 3 cents per word plus copies, one time right only. No unnecessary violence please. In both books, I am looking for a good, old fashioned ghost story on the order of Peter Straub's "Ghost Story," and the movie, "The Changeling." Think of unexplained noises in the basement at night, secret rooms, an eery light in the cemetery, for example. The Civil War collection is much the same and can be set either in the Civil War era or in present times -- such as an apparition from the war intruding on present times. Let your imagination roam and give me a reason to keep the light on at night! [E-mail dated 28 Jul 1998] ==End of CALLIHOO newsletter for 4 August 1998==
