(GLs in Vol. 7 No. 24)] MARKET GUIDELINES =Femspec Special Issue: Girl Power= Girl power is power that comes from within. Girl power comes from celebrating femininity in all its complexity. Girl power comes from girls breaking traditional molds and becoming who they want to be, taking control of themselves and extending that control to their environment. Currently media and texts celebrate girl power in varied and innovative ways. This special issue of =Femspec= focuses on all aspects of girl power in media and texts and their impact on girls. Submissions on all aspects of girl power and speculative fiction are welcome. However, in keeping with the nature of the journal, we are interested in submissions that focus on the following: * new developments in animation and television, such as Power Puff Girls, Sailor Moon, Charmed, Kiki's Delivery Service, Barbie and the Sensations; * current television shows that have witches, such as Charmed; * current television shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer; * girls' websites; * girls with supernatural powers; * female superheroes, such as Xena; * anime; * home video games; * speculative fiction texts and comics featuring girl power; * discussions about girls writing and publishing; and * submissions of writing by girls. Submissions should be accompanied by a cover letter including name, address, and title(s) of the work(s); submissions should only include the title of the work.
