Revisions for the final portion of Crown of Stars are not yet complete.

The first two thirds of Volume Six is in pretty good shape and will mostly need some cutting, polishing, and line editing.  However, because of the structural change from one huge long volume into two “shorter” volumes (each of which is still almost twice the length of a ‘normal’ sf/f novel), I have to perform some moderately significant alterations to what are now the final chapters of Volume Six - this means that you Hugh fans will get some extended scenes in which he has (naturally) the starring role.  Volume Seven - while needing the usual boat-load of rewriting, revisions, polishing, cutting and trimming, and line editing - will pretty much stay as is.

Meanwhile I am about three quarters of the way through the first volume of my new project, with a working title of “Crossroads”.  No publication date set yet.

Volume Six, In the Ruins, will be published in early August 2005 both by DAW Books (USA) and Orbit Books (UK/Australia/NZ).  Volume Seven, Crown of Stars, will probably (but not yet definitely) appear in February 2006.  The entire story is complete.

I have a story set in the Jaran universe that appears in the DAW 30th Anniversary - Science Fiction (anthology), now available in paperback in the USA.
