"I want to let you know, I LOVE your writing....I actually checked out Bone Doll's Twin at the library last summer, and was hooked....I put EVERYTHING on hold to read through it.  I ignored the world, read it while making dinner, in the bath, everything.  So, the next day, I went and checked out Hidden Warrior...and went through the same routine.  To my horror, the library didn't (at the time) have Oracle's Queen...but, the local Border's did, so I bought 2 copies...one for me, and one to donate to the library (that way, the next reader doesn't have to go through the same shock, lol).

After reading and re-reading all three books...I became inspired.  I have a small "series" of "Creepy Babies" going on, lol...but this one, I thought I'd make as a direct inspiration.  I know that, in the books, Tobin and Brother were a bit older than the character in my rendering...but in my mind...having the baby demon project the thought of "I know the taste of your tears" was a bit more offputting...and actually easier for me to visualize, as strange as it may seem."

"Seregil is bickering with Thero. Alec looks at them and feels a bit worried, but Micum is quite amused.

Hope you like them. :D"

"I couldn't resist drawing fanart after I heard book four is going to be released this year! I hope this looks somewhat like the characters, this is my first time drawing them.
I have no idea why Seregil is wearing so little in the snow...I hope he doesn't catch a cold ;;

I hope you like the picture ♥

Thank you for writing such beautiful stories, I look forward to their next adventure in book four!"

"I'm a fan of your fantasy novels and found your LJ last year. I saw that you don't mind fanarts so I thought I might add a little contribution with my Seregil x Alec picture. I hope you'll like it, even though it's in manga style and my own visualization of the characters. I also hope you won't mind them not being entirely clothed (though I think my picture is ok for general viewing), but at first I wanted them to appear as if they had just risen from bed (and whatever they might have been doing in that bed *blush* ) and looking out of a high window (idea that flew out *my* window when I got to the "background step").

OK, I'll stop with my ramblings ^^;;

Thank you for providing us with such wonderful books and fascinating characters."

"Recently went over your Nightrunner books and found myself overwhelmingly inspired to draw something on that matter. So please find attached a little appreciation gift. "

Bottom:

"A little Christmas present for you (well i have no idea why it is summer). And at his 22 Seregil may not look like as "approximately
15-year-old human boy" but than you never know with faie.....

Best wishes, Ovsanna

Luck in the shadow ever!"

"Once again I created some Tamr-Fanart. But just like with the hand-holding circle-picture of last year, this one comes in several versions.  I send you all of it, so you can choose which one you like best, if you want to put it in your gallery.
Well, and again those pictures were a present for my friend Sylvia Hoerner, who wrote those great songs to your wonderful Tamr books.

Besides from your books and her songs I got my inspiration this time from a picture I saw on Deviant-Art. There was a piece of art in which two characters were in such a beautiful captured pose that I had to try something like that, too. In the end it didn't exactly work out as I had planned it, but on the other hand it got more a life of its own that way.

However, since I just couldn't decide on who should be holding who, I soon was determined to simply draw two versions of the scene.  And then there was this idea of creating a special frame for that double-picture, which ended up in those names and words which describe Tobin, Tamr and Ki. "

"I just wanted to say I absolutely adore your work. I loved Shadows Return and cannot wait for next summer! :) A friend recommended Luck in the Shadows to me last year when I could not for the life of me find any enticing fiction to read, and I've been hooked ever since.

I haven't drawn much in the last two months... and of course, it was reading SR that finally put some inspiration into my brain. So I thought I'd share it with you! Alec and Seregil, all dolled up for a night on the town."

The first in a monochrome Nightrunner Series by wonderful artist Mathia!

Not to mention additional wonders...

You can find more Nightrunner art at Mathia's website, linked from Lynn's main gallery page.

Comments about Pieces 3-6:
"The first is of a Gedre Aurenfaie, inspired by the 'welcome scene'
from the beginning of the third book. The second picture is of Alec.
This image came to my mind as I was reading the part about the group
traveling with the Aurenfaie towards the Ashek Mountains (not having
reached the magiced passes yet).
Third and last pic, is of a Khatme. I have a queer fascination with
that clan, as with the Hazadrielfaie. They seem so intelligent,
magical, proudful, and mysterious, and that's what I wished to
represent in the drawing as well. The scene which inspired this was
small and easily overlook-able one, but when I read it, the image
simply popped into my head. The scene I am talking of is the one where
Alec is talking to Artis in Sarikali (page.229), who says that the
Khatme are an 'Arrogant bunch of stargazers, that's what I say,' Artis
fumed as he served beer from his window perch. 'Think they're closer
to Aura than the rest of us' [...] 'I hear they make fine wizards,'
Alec put in. 'Wizards, seers, rhui'auros,' the brewer allowed
grudgingly. 'But magic is a gift meant to serve and that's something
the Khatme don't do willingly. Instead, they stay up in their eagles'
nest of a fai'thast, dreaming their strange dreams and handing down
proclamations.'
Hope the drawings are to your liking. :)"

"I finally managed to do some fanart for your two heroes! ... I know they both don't like their society personas, but I really love this aspect of their lifes and felt the urge to draw them as Lord Seregil and Lord Alec!"

"...I had this idea to check your site, and Lo! A new Nightrunner book! This makes my year! So I ordered the book using the net (I live in a wooded area now. No libraries that carry books in english for 50 km...) And I just received it yesterday. I haven't read a real book for years now...

And in the honor of this, I took out the one drawing I made after reading Traitor Moon. I imagined Thero left behind, and I came up with this sketch. I feel almost embarassed with all the talented artists sending really detailed work, but well, it has this haunting semi-serene loneliness I sensed in Thero by the end of Traitor Moon.

I just read the first few pages of Shadows Return and I rediscover the pure pleasure of reading your work. So thank you for having created these wonderful characters!"
