| "I finished Shadow's Return yesterday and am very much looking forward to The White Road. Hopefully it will have more Thero. I promise you Thero fanart if it does. Not that I'd bribe my favorite author or anything." |

"The last months I hardly drew anything but
somehow it was like your books became my muse. There are so many scenes
I want to try and it makes me so happy to be able to do some pictures
again!" |

| "Don't know what to say other than I really love the latest book. I'm glad there's no cliffhanger or else I'd drive myself crazy, but next summer is still too long.
Anyway I draw Sebrahn fanart (how could I not?) I intend to draw others too but not sure when I'm going to finish it so I send you this one first. :D" |

Aspen was kind enough to send both sketches and finished work for some of the pieces, so we can see the progression! Some context quotes for the finished work: Unfortunate Necessity "The bits of jewelry, his boots, and Alec's clothing were tied in the cloak and slung over one shoulder, and with them the severed braid of his long hair. He regretted having to cut it, but that, as much as his face, would have been a flag to any slave takers. What remained hung in ragged hanks around his face." - Shadows Return, pages 377-378 Love Bite "Seregil held off until they were alone again, then threw a towel at Alec, laughing, 'Tsk, such blushing! People will talk. Especially about that rather unfortunate mark I left there, under your left ear.' Scowling darkly, Alec climbed from the tub, found a small mirror among the bath supplies, and examined the purpling love bite. 'I hate it when you do that!' 'I don't recall you - ' 'Shut up!' Alec growled, fighting back a grin of his own as he wrapped himself in a towel." - Shadows Return, page 77. |

" Old people are hard to draw, thus it's my first try doing a picture in a dark setting. I always thought of the scene, where Arkoniel goes on a walk with her when she visits the keep. "In the cold, pale light, Iya suddenly looked like a statue made of iron. The image struck Arkoniel through with sadness. For the first time since he'd known her, he admitted to himself how hard she could be, how removed from the common flow of humanity." Nah, what a great scene! *__* Ariani took the longest for the bricks in the wall and the pearls and glitter glued to her dress." |
