What is genre fiction?

For the purpose of this Union, genre fiction is defined as....

DreamWeavers is new, we are just getting off the drawing board, so our future direction will be determined by the membership.

Current Services Offered include:

DreamWeavers WebRing:
This totally free service allows web sites with similar interest to form "rings" of sites, allowing netizens a fast and efficient way to find content and a great way for sites to build traffic and gain exposure. By placing a few lines of HTML on your page a visitor can visit a random site with similar content by clicking a button, or they can work their way around the "ring" in order. They can find your site from any other site in the ring in the same fashion. Want to know other writers sites out there? Travel the WebRing.

DreamWeavers Newsgroup
The Dreamweavers Newsgroup is carried on the SFF.Net News Server. The SFF Net newsgroups aren't part of Usenet; they are on a completely separate server, and only the public newsgroups are available. Instead of reading news from your ISP's news server, you tell your newsreader to come to SFF.Net by setting NEWS.SFF.NET as one of your news servers. Some newsreaders make it easy to have multiple news servers configured; others require you to set up separate directories or newsrc files for each server you access. If you are using Netscape, it will allow you to configure multiple News Servers and seems to work fine for reading Sff newsgroups (Netscape 3 +). I understand that Internet Explorer 3 and above also do a creditable job. An excellent (highly recommended, and the one I use) newreader is .
To participate in DreamWeavers, the newsgroup in support of the DreamWeaver's WebWriters Union subscribe to sff.writing.dreamweavers. We look forward to hearing from you.
DreamWeavers Chat.
We are #dreamweavers on the Undernet. At present time we are up at 7PM pst on Monday nights. This is a new channel so the time is flexible at the discretion of new members. What will we talk about? Well...writing in general or anything else that strikes out fancy.
The Mailing List
DreamWeavers now has a mailing list, carried, at the present time, by West Coast Online. Thanks West Coast. This is an unformal, unmoderated discussion list for anything to do with writing resources and markets. Webring members are automatically subscribed when they join, but those who are not Webring members or who don't have a website may subscribe if they wish.

To sign up for our mailing list, complete the form below. You will receive a welcome letter shortly.

Planned for the Future

Newsletter:
The Crystal Loom, our newsletter is mailed to distribution the first week of each month. We have reference helps, new resources on the net, kudos for our members, a spotlight feature for member sites and, I hope articles by you, the membership. This plan of this group is to help each other help ourselves and have a good time.
Banner Exchange
At present, I only have the mechanism for doing this on my site, so I will see how it goes, but the general idea is to display rotating banners of other fanfic writers on my FanFic page, other Fantasy writers on my Fantasy page, etc. This will provide a little more specialized promotion than a general banner display would.
Resource Pool
This would be a general listing of other members who are willing to share their expertise on a more private basis, as proof readers, beta readers, editors, etc. This could be specialized by field, so if someone was looking for a fantasy beta reader, they could go to the list. Likewise those who have special skills, such as military or historical knowledge could be contacted as a research source. The database would be secured to members only for the privacy of the volunteers.

Well, these are plans for the future....come join us and help us grow.
