Here are my parents, Tom and Scottie Allen, along with Eleanore at the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro in September, 1996. Honesty requires me to admit this photo is retouched, with various people posing for other cameras erased from the image, mostly to make to clear who it was we were interested in as far as this photo went.

The statue of Christ, interestingly enough, is made out of concrete panels (the Brazilians seem to have quite an affection for concrete). There is a chapel at the base of the statue, with the entrance under Christ's heels. The inside of the statue is hollow, and in effect forms the roof of the chapel.
