The New York Review of Science Fiction readings at Dixon Place in lower Manhattan. Kinda like .wav files with Sensurround and no download time. On these comfy, run-down premises brilliant readings are commonplace. Beverages available, interesting fellow-audience members guaranteed.

Radio:

Reality Break, an independent, Atlanta-based radio show about speculative fiction. This is a terrific show I used to look forward to on Tuesday mornings here in New York, but WNYE let me down. However...it's available through the Web! Yay.

Hour of the Wolf, on WBAI in the New York City area (99.5, from 5 to 7 a.m. Saturdays). A speculative-fiction radio show with a long history and a stellar guest list. The host, Jim Freund, starts out by playing some Celtic rock, then goes on to readings, guest appearances, and listener call-ins.

Amazon.com. I love Amazon's notification service, and I've been keeping track: Amazon has had all the in-print titles I've wanted lately; my local B&N "superstore" has had forty percent, and the discounts weren't as good on what they had. Amazon wins.

Speculations, an excellent market newsletter for speculative-fiction writers, with many useful feature articles, and frequent Interim Issues to keep subscribers up todate between the bimonthly regular issues.

Scavenger's Newsletter, another excellent market newsletter with a long history and an emphasis on the small press.

Tangent, the only magazine specifically devoted to reviews of short fiction in the SF/F/H field. Now there's also Tangent Online.

Locus, for news, announcements, highlights from the print version of the trade magazine. Updated daily.
