Weddings
Rabbi Honigsberg did a wonderful job in officiating our interfaith wedding ceremony. He made us feel comfortable during our discussions while guiding us through the process of planning a service that expressed our relationship. He was extremely helpful in combining spiritual and emotional aspects, and his sense of humor and positive attitude were instrumental in giving us confidence that we had chosen the right person. His remarks were thoughtful and appropriate and helped make the ceremony enjoyable. We would recommend him to anyone considering a Rabbi for an interfaith ceremony.

I’m Jewish, and my wife is Christian. Deciding on an interfaith marriage ceremony, we spent four months searching for a rabbi willing to officiate. Rabbi David Honigsberg was perfect. He met with us, and the minister with whom he was to co-officiate, several times before the wedding day. He is pleasant, learned, and experienced. He and the minister worked easily together. Rabbi David suggested the book, “Celebrating Interfaith Marriage,” and helped us put together the perfect wedding ceremony for us. Rabbi David also sent us to a great website to choose our ketubah. We will always cherish the one we found there. It was a privilege having Rabbi David at our wedding, not only as our rabbi, but also as an honored guest. He made the process effortless.

Rabbi Honigsberg co-officated at our wedding, working closely with us and our preacher, as this was an inter-faith marriage. He exhibited great flexibility in helping us prepare a ceremony that represented both faiths with respect and made for an integrated event. Rabbi Honigsberg's sense of humor both during the wedding process and at the actual wedding was a much-needed infusion of levity during, as most of these things probably are, a stressful planning process.

Rabbi Honigsberg was exactly the officiant we needed. He took us
through a number of steps that both helped us organize and plan our
ceremony, but also to understand our wedding ritual and, in fact, our
impending marriage better. He was extremely accommodating, knowing exactly how to bring our wishes and spirituality into the larger context of our ritual. He built bridges and created a spiritual
environment in which all felt welcome. We're very grateful Rabbi
Honigsberg was our officiant.

We were extraordinarily happy with Rabbi Honigsberg's services at our wedding. We met less than three weeks before the ceremony, and we instantly felt we were in good hands. In short order he collaborated with us to create a program that was spiritual and deeply personal, blending Jewish and Catholic elements with the vows we'd written. The resulting service was extremely meaningful to us. At the wedding he was a beacon of calm on a hectic swirl of a day. We'd recommend him to anyone.

We live in Los Angeles, so the prospect of finding a really great rabbi on
another coast (we were married in Connecticut) was a daunting task. However,
within minutes of meeting Rabbi David Honigsberg, we knew we had found the
perfect spiritual match. He asked the right questions, he had the right
answers, and (we were pleased to discover) he was funny, too. When it came
time for the wedding, we could not have asked for (or received) a more
insightful, witty, warm, articulate and engaging leader to join us together
in matrimony. Rabbi David made traditions accessible and joyous, and he
constructed his remarks with our relationship specifically in mind. We were
married in June of 2001; today, in the spring of 2003, our relatives and
friends still say it was the best wedding they've ever been to. Truly, David
Honigsberg is your rabbinical dream come true! Sigh...if only he could open
an LA office.
Rachel Kamerman & Eddie Schmidt, married June 24, 2001
When we decided to marry, we knew that the ceremony would require a special
touch due to our religious differences. After meeting Rabbi David
Honigsberg, it was clear that he was the perfect learned man to officiate
our wedding. He was warm, creative, and very interesting. Above all, he was
open to helping us create a personalized wedding ceremony. Rabbi Honigsberg deftly integrated with a wonderful
Roman Catholic priest to create a beautiful blend of Jewish and Catholic
traditions for our ceremony. The ceremony turned out to be an amazing
co-officiated affair that celebrated both of our faiths, which both of our
families appreciated and enjoyed. Most importantly, Rabbi Honigsberg's
ceremony started our new life together out on the right foot. Now, years
later, everyone who was present still remembers that the best part of our
wedding was the wonderful ceremony. Thanks Rabbi Honigsberg!

Bar and Bat Mitzvahs
We just wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for officiating Samantha's Bat Mitzvah. She was quite nervous, initially, meeting a new Rabbi and facing a great deal of preparation. You, however, made her feel comfortable and gave her the confidence she needed to do a great job! Once again, our family and I are so pleased and grateful. We all had a wonderful day and were so very proud of Samantha. I look forward to seeing you again; who knows? Maybe a future wedding!

In-Home Kabbalah Classes
I got a lot out of Rabbi David's class. He did a great deal of preparation for each one, and handed out really interesting notes each week. The discussions were stimulating and informative and gave me better insight into the specific areas of Kabbalah which I want to further study. He also was able to recommend books so I could continue to read on my own. I would be glad to study with him again.

Weekend Kabbalah Workshops
I learned more in a weekend with Rabbi Honigsberg than I had learned
after three years of rummaging through bookstores and websites. There
is simply no substitute for a talented teacher of authentic Kabbalah. I
came away from the experience with my prayer life permanently changed.
Even two-and-a half years later, my inner life continues to be shaped by
that weekend of study.

Rabbi Honigsberg's workshops are astounding. You never realize so much time is passing so quickly. I learned more about Judaism and Kabalah in each weekend than my research into those subjects taught
me in 20 years. I will sign up for a 3rd, 4th, and 5th weekend as soon as I hear about them!

For those of you close enough to attend Rabbi Honigsberg's classes...I would recommend them greatly. I have been to 2 of his classes already. He explains the subject in ways that makes you attain a deep level of understanding. There were a lot of things that even with my 10+ years of study did not click until I attended his class. The classes appeal not only to Jews wanting to learn their mystical tradition, but to other faiths as well.
