Web Page Development

Free-Hosted Webpage Development

Essentially, you will write a resume and put it up on the web as a webpage. In order to put the page up on the internet, we will be using the browser-based free-hosting service: www.homestead.com Homestead has its own application for webpage creation, which we will download and use.

Develop a Web Page that is similar in nature to your resume. The purpose of this site is to impress employers with its existence, creativity and professionalism.

Guidelines:

• Make this professional, all the world will be able to see it, literally.
• At least two scanned-in pictures should be on the webpage. You must be the one to scan it in, so it should be of you or something recognizable.
• Make your Homepage with a large title and a set of links to related info at least 4 working links are required.
• Each page or section of the page, needs a BIG, SHORT caption. Use big bulleted items, not small print.
• Mix in various pictures. This is the web, people want pictures.
• In this case you can put a lot of text on the page. Unlike your presentations, you should put all the text you want people to see on the page.

As part of our project, you will all need to submit your page to one search engine so that the entire world can find your webpage.

WHAT TO TURN IN

All you need to turn in is a print out of your “receipt” from the search engine, and a printed URL that will get me to your webpage to grade it. I will try to have the time to show them off to everyone during the last days of class.
