The Science of Creating New Things

CMPSC 205, transferrable programming course in Java.  ACM equivalent to CS 1.  CMPSC 205 is the first half of a year-long sequence that covers fundamental programming techniques.  The course focuses on problem-solving, documentation, modular program development, data types, input and output methods, files, arrays and objects.

The second semester, CMPSC 261, will cover more advanced topics: object-oriented design, structures, multi-dimensional arrays, stacks, queues, recursion, dynamic data structures, lists and trees.  The programming language C++ will be used in the second course.
