MCMPSC
204 is the starting point for new programmers, either CS majors or
others. This class is the required
prerequisite for MCMPSC 205, 213, 241, and other courses. We will cover some computer literacy as
well as fundamental programming techniques.
We will study problem solving, algorithm design, program
documentation, modular program development, data types, as well as input and
output methods. Among the programming
languages to be used are Basic, Java, Visual Basic and C++. The main focus of the class will be computer literacy, problem-solving and programming, but we will also cover different computing career paths. Part of the purpose of this course is to help the student decide what topics in computer science they wish to focus upon. * from The Mythical Man-Month |
