This is a picture of SFWA's 1999 Grand Master, Hal Clement. Hal is a great writer and a darn good speaker, though to be honest I was mostly concerned during his acceptance speech that his Nebula Award (pictured to his right and our left) was going to fall of the podium! If you look closely you can see that it's not even on the podium all the way...yikes. Luckily those things are made of solid lucite, so I don't suppose a fall would damage them much. (Though I do hear that they explode when subjected to varying degrees of pressure.)
