Personal
- Dvorkin.com is the home page of the people who are the reason my page, and everything else associated with me, exists.
- Sioux's House of Chaos is the home page of a close friend who I knew for years before I ever actually met. (That this is possible is, I feel quite strongly, one of the wonders of the modern age.) Tell her I now have more pictures of myself on my site than she does of herself on hers, so nyaaah.
- The Underground Terrorist Motorcycle Cult, a production of my good friend Dan Leventhal, has to be experienced to be understood. The name is deceptive, yet appropriate; you'll see what I mean. Tell Dan I sent you.
- Becca Norman is a good friend, an impressive writer, and an all-around wonderful human being.
- The Dark Side of the Net is the best overall e-resource for Gothic stuff you'll find. Art, music, and contact with a whole lot of net.goths -- thousands of links, and growing all the time. (I don't have any band links here because DSotN does it better than I can. Much. If I did, they'd be to Siouxsie, the Sisters, Bauhaus, Concrete Blonde, Rosetta Stone ... all the stuff you'd expect.)
- Military stuff: You may have noticed that I don't have any military links. Possibly I never will, at least not to any official, US government military sites. My feelings about the military are quite complex and will take years to work through, and at this point I don't feel like sending my visitors to see what the government has to say for itself. Maybe later, I don't know.

Science & Technology
- The National Center for Science Education is the best defense against creationism. Give generously.
- The Electronic Frontier Foundation is in the forefront of the fight against internet censorship.
- The International Society for Computational Biology and The Society for Mathematical Biology are the leading professional organizations in the biggest advance in biology and medicine since the publication of The Origin of Species.
- TidBITS is the Net's greatest Mac resource. I learn more from TidBITS than from the rest of the computer press combined. And even PC users will find their market reporting worthwhile.
- Macintouch, MacOS Rumors, and MacCentral are other good Mac publications available on the Web.
- The Register is a good source for general computer news. Their slogan, "Biting the hand that feeds IT," sums it up nicely.
- Slashdot is a forum for discussion of computers and damn near everything else. One of the Net's best virtual communities.
- Cookwood Press is the Web site of Elizabeth Castro, the author of HTML for the World Wide Web (A Visual Quickstart Guide), the best Web authoring guide ever written. In about a year, it took me from HTML novice to professional web developer -- and it costs less than twenty dollars, in contrast to very expensive competing books. The rest of the Visual Quickstart Guide series, by Castro and others, is also excellent.

Writing
- The Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and the Horror Writers Association are dedicated to serving writers of both short fiction and novels. You'll find professional assistance, all sorts of resources, and a friendly welcome from the best in the business.
- The American Civil Liberties Union matters: if writers want to be able to write what they want to write, without fear of being hauled off to jail (or just shot in the head) someone has to keep on eye on the forces of evil -- words carefully chosen there; I'm not being melodramatic -- to make sure it never gets that far.
- Other authors on SFF.Net have a variety of stuff on their pages; please take a look around. In this one little corner of cyberspace, you'll find quite a concentration of creative talent.
- Nancy Kilpatrick is one SFF.Net writer to whom I'd like to call your attention in particular -- a talented author who's also a hell of a goth, and a friend of long standing.
- SFF.Net itself, and DM.net, are Net communities oriented toward but not limited to science fiction, fantasy, and horror. They've replaced the Science Fiction Round Table on Genie, which used to be pretty much the center of the online SF/F/H community, but is dead now, RIP.
- Carlton Mellick III is the author of the surreal-horror/bizarre-fantasy novels Razor Wire Pubic Hair, Satan Burger, The Baby Jesus Butt Plug, and Electric Jesus Corpse. Impossible to describe; see for yourself.
