Latest News (For more News and Events, click here) David can now announce that he will be the Literary Guest of Honor at Con-Version, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on the weekend of October 15-17, 2010. If you're in the area, stop by and say hello! Here's the art work for the Robin Hood novelization that will be published in April 2010. The book will be published by Tor Books. The movie will be released by NBC/Universal on May 14, 2010. It is directed by Ridley Scott, and stars Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. And for those of you in the area, David will be signing copies of his books at the University of the South Bookstore in Sewanee, Tennessee on February 26th. Come on up the mountain and meet the author! Happy New Year! David has completed work on the Robin Hood movie novelization (for the Ridley Scott production of Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett due to be released in May 2010) that he was writing over the holidays. He is now back at work on the Thief Taker books that he will be publishing under the name D.B. Jackson. He is also preparing for the February 2010 release of The Dark-Eyes' War, the third and final volume in his Blood of the Southlands trilogy. February will also see the paperback re-release of The Horsemen's Gambit, book II in Blood of the Southlands. And to mark the occasion, David will be giving away a signed copy of The Dark-Eyes' War to the winner of this month's contest! So check it out here! David has recently begun work on two new projects. The first, announced here a couple of weeks ago, is a fantasy/mystery series called "The Chronicles of the Thief Taker". The books will be set in pre-Revolutionary Boston. David will be writing this series under the name D.B. Jackson. It will be published by Tor Books and the first book should be released in the spring of 2011. David has also just learned that he will be writing the novelization for the new Ridley Scott/Russell Crowe "Robin Hood" movie that will be hitting theaters in May 2010. The book, as yet untitled, will be written under David's own name and should be out from Tor/Forge just in advance of the movie's release. The Dark-Eyes' War, book III in David's critically acclaimed Blood of the Southlands trilogy will be released in February 2010. But you can read the first three chapters of the book right here, right now! While you're at it, check out the new jacket art for the book. David has just added an event to his Appearances calendar. On October 28th, as part of the kickoff for World Fantasy Convention in San Jose, California, David will be joining several other authors for a group signing at Borderlands Books in San Francisco. So if you're in the area, or plan to be, come to Borderlands, meet David and the other authors, and get some books signed!

The article is called "Speculating on Fiction's Name." Please visit the IGMS site and enjoy the article. Fall 2009: Another season has gone by and David is in between projects now. He has recently proof-read the galleys for The Dark-Eyes' War, the third and final book in Blood of the Southlands, which will be released in February 2010. This is just about the last stage of the production process; it won't be long until The Dark-Eyes' War is out. The paperback edition of The Horsemen's Gambit will also be out in February, so this is a great time to start reading the series, which begins with The Sorcerers' Plague. David has also completed work on two other books this summer, as well as an article for Orson Scott Card's InterGalactic Medicine Show that should be up soon, and a couple of short stories. There is a new contest up that you should definitely check out. And David is getting excited about his upcoming appearance at World Fantasy Convention in San Jose California at the end of October. David has recently posted "Cassie's Story" on this site. This story first appeared in Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show a year ago. You can now read it for free here. Enjoy!
