ContestsAustralia, part I

Welcome back to the Contests page of my website! The contests were gone for a while, but now they're back again. As before, I'll be giving away signed copies of my books, signed promotional posters, and perhaps other goodies as well. This isn't intended to be taken too seriously -- it's just a book or poster. There's nothing too big at stake here. So have fun with it and enjoy!

The Latest Winner:

Well, this contest -- the one asking for casting and directorial decisions for the (imaginary) movie version of my first book, Children of Amarid -- proved to be a difficult contest to judge. I got some good entries, but none that knocked my socks off. The winner is Jared Bennett, of Lincoln, Nebraska. Jared had Ron Howard directing the film, Johnny Depp as Jaryd, Lindsey Lohan as Alayna (because, as he put it, "we are going to need some crazy press to promote the movie."), Patrick Stewart as Baden, and Alan Rickman as Sartol. I'm not sure about Johnny Depp, but the other choices seem pretty good. For his winning response, Jared will receive a signed hardcover edition of The Sorcerers' Plague, the first volume of Blood of the Southlands.

And now a new contest....

The Prize:

A signed uncorrected proof of The Horsemen's Gambit, the second book in my new Blood of the Southlands trilogy. The winner will be one of the very first people anywhere to read this book, which has yet to be released. I don't even have cover art for it yet!

Children of AmaridThe Question: Another different kind of contest. I am currently writing the third and final book of my Blood of the Southlands trilogy. The first book, The Sorcerers' Plague, is already out, and the second volume, The Horsemen's Gambit, will be out in January 2009. I don't have a title yet for this third book, and so I'm going to ask you all to help me choose. I'm going to give you several options that I'm currently considering, and you will tell me your preference. When I decide on one of those options I'll also select the name of one of those who chose that same title. And that person will be our new winner. (If by some chance I select a different title, I'll choose the winner from among all the entries, as usual.) Or, if you come up with a great title I haven't considered yet you'll win automatically! So give it a try!

The choices are: A) The Witch's Curse, B) The Blood Curse, C) The Dark-Eyes' March, D) Curse of the Mettai, E) The Blood War, F) The Witch's War (I like these last two, but since the last book of Winds of the Forelands was Weavers of War, I probably can't use either of them.)

Use the link below to send me a response (No multiple submissions!) and you might win the book!

Submit your answer by clicking the button below, but please do not do so without first reading the contest rules.
