The Southlands are divided almost precisely down the center with the Qirsi clans holding the western lands, while the Eandi hold the east. The clanlands of the west are, in turn, divided among the twelve sorcerer clans: the Fal'Borna, the J'Balanar, the A'Vahl, the M'Saaren, the D'Krad, the Talm'Orast, the R'Troth, the H'Bel, the T'Saan, the I'Prael, the Nid'Qir, and the B'Qahr. The Eandi lands of the east are divided among the five sovereignties: Stelpana, Aelea, Tordjanne, Qosantia, and Naqbae. Much of the action in The Sorcerers' Plague, book I of Blood of the Southlands, takes place on the Central Plain, held by the Fal'Borna, and in the Companion Lakes region of northern Stelpana, where the Mettai live. Book II, The Horsemen's Gambit, takes place on the plain and also in the city of Qalsyn in central Stelpana. |
