The Emperor Storyline simulation will apply, which means the following cards are legal:
Note that all Most Recent Printings (MRP), Errata and Bans listed by AEG as being in effect as of June 16 will apply.
The rules that shall apply are those that pertain to the Celestial Edition of The Legend of the Five Rings CCG, as described here.
The floor rules that will govern the general conduct of the tourmanent are those issued by AEG, and are available here.
The format for the tournament is a series of Swiss preliminary rounds, the number of which will be determined by the number of players who have entered the tournament, followed by a series of Elimination finals matches. In all rounds, players score match points in the following fashion:
Matches in the preliminary Swiss rounds of the tournament shall consist of a single game with a forty-five (45) minute time limit. In the event a game goes to time without a win being reported within 5 minutes of time being called, it is, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, considered a draw. It is the responsbility of the WINNER of a match to report his or her win to the designated scorekeeper BEFORE time is called.
Matches in the elimination rounds shall consist of best two of three with no set time limit.
Fifteen (15) minutes will be given between each round of the tournament.
A meal break of one (1) hour will be given after the second preliminary Swiss round of play.
Players should be in their seats at the start of each round. In the event a player does not arrive within ten minutes of the start of the round, the late player will be penalized by being given a loss for that round of play.
A Passive Judging System will be utilized for the tournament. Judges are only required to call instances of mechanical cheating and unsportsmanlike conduct. This style promotes the notion that the tournament player should be aware of the rules, nuances and styles of play involved in Legend of the Five Rings. Note, however, that when they are rendered, the decisions of the judges are FINAL.
