The 2008 Toshi Kaminari Daini Tournament

The City of Thunder Council of Oracles are pleased to present the Daini Tournament for 2008. This is a separate, special tournament event that will occur AFTER the conclusion of the Swiss rounds and the dinner break, while the Kotei finals are going on...so those who do not "make the cut" in the Kotei will have an opportunity to play on anyway, for fun and cool prizes!

The 2008 Daini Tournament will be tied to the Race for the Throne. If you wish to participate, you must declare, at the time you register, which of the Contenders for the Throne you will support. Note that you do not have to declare for the Contender from the Clan you are playing during the Kotei. So, for example, you may be playing a Crane deck throughout the Kotei but, for the purposes of the Oracle Bounty, you may choose to declare that you are supporting the Scorpion Contender, Bayushi Norachai.

Following are the official Contenders for the Throne from each Clan:

Once the Swiss Rounds of the Kotei and the dinner break are complete, the Daini Tournament will begin. You will play using your Kotei deck. However, the overall conduct of the Daini Tournament will be...different. We will reveal the actual details of what this great contest will entail, but for now, we will leave you with one hint...

Make sure you know the following rules for multi-player (with full credit and many thanks to Vitomancer3 on the AEG forums)!

Multi-Player Rules

Create a Clan Wars Pool. This pool contains:

This pool sits in the middle of the table, face down. When it's cards are discarded or played, they are put in a discard pile next to it called the Clan Wars Discard Pile. These cards may not be focused nor discarded by card costs and card effects. They do not count towards satisfying the conditions of elemental rings. Shuffle these back into the Clan Wars Pool if it is ever empty. If one of these cards would ever enter a player's deck it is instead discarded to the Clan Wars Discard pile. All Clan Wars cards are considered to be owned and controlled by the player playing them.

All players have the following abilities in Multiplayer:

Open: If it is not your turn: Straighten one unit and one card you control. This can't straighten the Ring of the Void.

Reaction: When an attack is declared, draw a card from the Clan Wars Pool. Discard it after the Resolution Segment.

Political Limited: If you have the highest Family Honor, discard the Imperial Favor: Target a province controlled by a player who controls at least 2 provinces. Destroy it. Lose 10 honor. This loss may not be redirected, copied, modified, waived or negated.

Political Reaction: Any number of times per turn, before another player loses honor due to one of your card effects: Negate the loss. Gain that much honor instead.
