The 2008 Toshi Kaminari Oracle Bounty

The City of Thunder Council of Oracles are pleased to present the Oracle Bounty for 2008. These are special prizes for those with the skill and courage to undertake certain tasks set out by the Oracles. A special Bounty will be presented for those who adhere to certain deck-building conditions, and who achieve certain, specific win conditions. Be warned, however...the deck conditions are such that normal competition for the Kotei win will be far more difficult (although not impossible and certainly not ruled out!) So if you have the courage to undertake the quest and become a Bounty Seeker, then read on!

For centuries, the reclusive Hare Clan has been dedicated to the destruction of all manifestations of Jigoku in Rokugan--particularly Bloodspeakers and other users of maho, but also creatures of the Taint, and those Corrupted by it. The 2008 Oracle Bounty will pit the tenacious Hare against the foul Shadowlands. Which will emerge victorious...the Darkness, or the Light?

To play in the 2008 Oracle Bounty, your deck must meet one of the following sets of conditions.

The Hare Clan

If you are going to play for the Hare Clan in the Oracle Bounty, your deck must:

The Shadowlands

If you are going to play for the Shadowlands in the Oracle Bounty, your deck must:

Conduct

Those seeking the Oracle Bounty and who have constructed their decks as above will declare their intention to claim the Bounty when they register. They will then play normally during the Swiss Rounds of the Kotei. At the end of the Swiss rounds, the declared Hare Clan and Shadowlands Bounty players each with the highest ranking in Swiss will be declared the winner of their respective Bounties and will be awarded a prize. Each of these players will then be invited to play off against one another in a single elimination final (optionally, if both players mutually agree, this could be a best 2 of 3 final, using the "Palmer Rules"). The winner of this final, either Hare or Shadowlands, will be declared the overall Oracle Bounty winner and will receive an additional prize...as well bragging rights that should endure for many, many hours!
