The
Hugo Awards, named after Hugo Gernsback, are presented annually be the members
of the World Science Fiction Convention.
As a result, it is the readers and fans of science fiction who select
the winners each year.
The
Nebula Award was inaugurated in 1965 and is given by the Science Fiction and
Fantasy Writers of America. The
winners are selected by a vote of the members, who must have published at least
one work of science fiction, fantasy or horror. It is the writers, therefore, who choose the winners of this
prestigious award.
