![]() I'd mentioned offhandedly to my parents a while back that I was planning on getting a new mailbox, since the one that I had was pretty dinky, and I didn't like bending the envelopes with my manuscripts in them to fit them into the mailbox. So, for xmas, my parents bought me a new mailbox. This thing is huge. A small child could sleep in this thing. I can receive large packages in it. I will never have to bend an envelope again. I could send novel-length mss out of this thing. It's totally obnoxious. I love it. ![]() I finished up a rewrite of one of my Clarion stories and sent it off for the sff.net anthology. I now have a whopping 3 stories out on the market. Woo! Sheesh. Definitely need to get cracking on that. I've started another story, for if/when the other gets bounced from the antho. Daniel challenged me to finish it by the 20th, which is when he's hoping to get his done by as well. Since the deadline for the anthology is the 31st, that would hopefully give us enough time to get those stories ready and presentable. ![]() I'm waiting for my new couch to be delivered. I went and bought it last week--paying more for a single piece of furniture than I ever have before in my life. But maybe that's a sign of being grown-up; I'm past the college-age taste of "it's clean enough to sit on." It's an awfully pretty couch, and I'm looking forward to getting the rest of the living room fixed up to go with it. There's still so many things I want to do and fix up around this house. The last couple of days were pretty darn cold, and I discovered that this house is terribly drafty, so weatherstripping is definitely in order. I'd love to totally replace the windows in the front of the house, and the rest of the windows need reglazing. I also still have the border wallpaper that I was going to put up in the bathroom. It's still sitting under the sink, waiting for me to tackle that project. One of these days. ![]() Life has been pretty dull though for the most part. I'm still working out, though unless my couch gets delivered soon I won't make it to the gym today. Not a big deal; I don't like to work out every day anyway. I went and got a Louisiana tag for my truck, and was pleasantly surprised to only pay $100 for four years. Tomorrow I'll probably go get my LA drivers license. Yeah, exciting life. I may rent some movies tonight. Woo. |
