Happy Mardi Gras, y'all. I have to admit, though, that I was a total Mardi Gras scrooge this year. I didn't attend a single parade. In fact, the closest I came to a parade was on Sunday when I worked a detail at the disbanding area for one of the Slidell parades. (I was guarding a parking lot. Hey, it was easy money.)

I've been having a kind of scratchy-throat cold-ish thing going on for the past couple of days, so I spent Mardi Gras lying on the couch being a complete slug. Hopefully I'll be over whatever bug this is before all of the final testing hits in less than two weeks! Woo! Graduation is on Thursday, March 23rd--but the beginning of that week is going to be a real bitch. On Monday we have our last weekly test (which is actually going to cover the last two weeks of material,) then Monday afternoon we have our final Physical Fitness Test--the usual run 1.5 miles, situps, pushups, and sit-and-reach. Then Tuesday is the Captain's final exam, which is worth 35% of our final grade. And finally, on Wednesday, we take the state POST exam--which is the one that really counts.

So, yeah, entries will continue to be pretty darn sparse for a little while longer. I've started studying for the finals already--actually started about a week and a half ago. I'm still holding the #1 spot, and I'd feel pretty damn stupid if I blew it now.
