Well, the mystery of the Suspicious Car has been solved. I talked to one of the Dog Boys and it turns out that it was a guy and a girl in the car; the girl was wanting to get a rock of crack from the guy and they were driving around looking for a place where she could give the guy a blowjob to pay for it. They were arrested shortly after my neighbor had seen them. So, it's a relief to know that they weren't going around casing houses, but still rather weird to think that my driveway looked suitable for that sort of business transaction. ![]() I haven't done much on the novel in the past couple of days. I've been really tired and haven't been able to focus really well. I also need to finish up the rewrites of the story that I sold to the sff.net antho. Tonight's my Friday though, so over my weekend I should be able to get much more accomplished. This week has just been a bad week for sleep for some reason. Graveyard shift is like that sometimes. I'll tell myself that I'm going to get to bed by 3 or 4pm, but somehow something always comes up and I don't get to bed until later. Or someone calls and wakes me up, or a dog is barking outside... I think I got a whopping three hours sleep yesterday. I did the count last night, so I got home by about 9am. I flaked out on the couch with the intent to just grab a nap of about an hour or two. Woke up at 1:30pm. I think maybe I was tired. So today I will get into bed by 4:30 at the latest, and then hopefully get caught up on my sleep over the weekend. You just never get enough sleep on this shift. I suppose I'd get more if I went to bed when I got home, but then I wouldn't wake up until evening and my whole day would be shot. The one big advantage to this shift is that my days are totally free. I like going to the gym when there's hardly anyone there, and I especially like going shopping when there are no crowds. Ah well, so I live on about 4 hours sleep a night during the week. That's what weekends are for. ![]() And the weather continues to be Psychotic Southern Weather. Yesterday it was positively warm and I was going around in shorts and a tank top. Today it's windy, blustery and cold, and I'm shivering in a coat. |
