Muscle weighs more than fat. Muscle weighs more than fat. I keep telling myself this so I
don't get too discouraged at the fact that I haven't lost any more weight.

I got up sorta early this morning and took a nice long walk down to the beach and then walked along the water for a ways.
The gulf coast beaches are not like normal beaches--at least along the Mississippi coast. There are no waves. None. (Well, except when a hurricane comes along.)
There's a row of barrier islands a few miles offshore, so the water is generally pretty smooth all the way out to the islands. It also stays shallow for a long way.
I used to go fishing out in the gulf every now and then, and we were able to wade out a good hundred yards from the shore and not even be chest deep.
Anyway, I didn't go into the water--just walked along it. The air wasn't exactly cool, but it wasn't yet hot, so it was pretty pleasant.

People are so friendly in the south. I don't really know how it is in other places, but as I was walking, everyone I walked past smiled and said, "Mornin'" to me.

We have another dog. Temporarily. (Whew!) My roommate is keeping him for a friend for the week. This dog has to be the fattest black lab I've ever seen. This dog weighs over a hundred pounds. He's beautiful and friendly,
but of course he's a dog and he slobbers. I was almost tempted to take him walking with me this morning, but then I figured with my luck he'd drop dead halfway, and then I'd be stuck with a hundred-pound dead dog.
