Oh, don't worry. Dog still lives, though we did have a discussion. So now I'm being much more careful about what I leave out, plus I'm trying to do more with him in case he's feeling neglected. Yesterday I went running after I got home from work, and then took Zeus for a nice long walk. I didn't walk him today, but I did play with him in the yard for a while. I've been kind of slacking on working obedience with him, so on my days off I plan on doing more of that. So yesterday I went running, then walking, and then I went to the gym and worked out in the afternoon. I slept like a rock that night (day.) Then today I bicycled down to the gym. I'm on this real fitness kick right now, helped by the fact that I'm seeing some real improvement in my strength and my shape. I haven't really lost any weight, but I've dropped another half an inch off my hips and I'm getting strong. (I have to confess I get a real kick when I see that I'm pushing the same amount of weight as some of the guys in the gym.) The gym has been almost completely empty the last few times I've been, which is great in some ways, but I also tend to get bored more quickly and cut my workouts short. I don't really want a workout partner, but it would be nice to have someone to workout at the same time with, just for conversational value. The gods know I get little enough social contact as it is. The gym is just about my only outlet. (No, work does not count as social contact.) I've been doing some writing, working slowly on a piece that looks like it's going to be a novella before I'm done. My big clue that it was going to be long was when I started to do a rough outline for it. I pretty much never outline my short fiction. About the most I usually do is scrawl some notes to myself. But this one needs more structure and has more in it, and I don't want to screw it up. But it's going slowly. Other than that, not much going on. I plan on going shooting again tomorrow and seeing if I really have isolated the causes for my shots to drift low and left. I also want to start working on my off-hand shooting. I figure I'll just work at the 25 yard range for a while, since my 7 yard shooting is pretty decent. Can't think of anything more to say tonight. Time to wander off to work! |
