I've been insanely productive today. I leave in a week for Seattle and so today I went to the bank and closed out my joint account, transferred money out of savings, went to the other bank and payed my car note ahead for 3 months. Then I finally got a new inspection sticker on my car (it was only about 8 months expired), dropped my dry cleaning off (I'd been saving it up for about three months so there was tons), then went to the eye doctor and picked up my new contacts and also got a copy of my prescription to keep in my wallet. Then I went to see my insurance agent and bought renter's insurance (which will also cover me if I get robbed while I'm away), and arranged to have my regular car insurance dropped to just comprehensive coverage while I'm gone (which will save me about $200.) Plus, I made a dentist appointment for tomorrow.

Anything else can wait until tomorrow, dammit.

I went to Freetrip to figure out the best routes for my drive to Alabama. It came up with two routes, one on mostly state highways and one on mostly interstate. It told me that it would take less time if I went the state highway route, since it was about 20 fewer miles. But I wish these programs had some sort of option to check such as "How fast do you intend to speed?" I mean, sure, if I go the speed limit it might take less time on the state highways, but I can speed much faster on the interstate. Of course that's the better choice!
