First thing this morning was calling my bank and the Copa to figure out what happened with my paycheck. My bank told me it had not been deposited, so I called the payroll department, and discovered that they had no record of me signing up for direct deposit. (And I did it two pay periods ago to give them plenty of time to get it set up.) But luckily the woman I talked to remembered me coming in to sign up for it, and told me that she would go ahead and walk it over to the bank personally to deposit it for me. A million blessings upon her camel for that.

And since I was being so darn productive I called an ISP in Seattle and set up an account that I could use while I'm here. (I'm stealing my brother's dial-up right now, but his ISP doesn't have a local access number in Seattle.) Then, my productivity came to a screeching halt when I attempted to call up U.S. West to set up my long distance service in my dorm room. I got an extremely helpful person on the phone, who informed me that the phone number that I'd been assigned (the one that Tim, the dorm person, gave us) was actually a number for some corporate something-or-other. I was also told that there was no order for phone service for the dorm. This is contrary to what we'd been told, so I sent Tim email asking him what the deal is, but I have yet to get a response.

So, if there are no journal entries in the next couple of days, it's because I have no phone. Just imagine me ranting and raging.

So after I made all of my phone calls this morning, Mike and I went to a local shooting range and made lots of loud noises with various types of weaponry. I really enjoy the hell out of shooting. I used to do a great deal of it, and was actually pretty good, but it's been over ten years since I've done any sort of serious shooting. Obviously the couple of hours we did this morning cannot be termed "serious shooting" but it was nice to know I haven't totally lost my touch. I managed to make plenty of holes in the black section of the target, and I even had one hole in the dead center (though to be honest, I'm sure that one was luck more than anything.)

Motorcycling again after that, since the weather was deciding to cooperate. We rode for about an hour and a half, up to a rocky beach that looked out toward an island. I took a cool picture of Mike there that I hope turns out. It has him on the beach with the water and the island in the background. We then rode back to Poulsbo, down to the marina, where a very nice man took our picture in front of a big rock. This weekend, after I get moved into the dorm I'll go drop the first roll of film off to be developed. If I'm lucky maybe someone in my class will have a scanner. If I'm not, and there are some really good pics, I might spring to get them scanned at Kinkos. I'll have to see.

Well, the plan for the rest of the evening is to do a surprise for all of the parents (Don't worry, you'll like it,) then go grab dinner. Then tomorrow I move into the dorm and the big crush begins.
