I pulled a late-nighter last night. Pardon me if I'm rather incoherent.

But I finished the story. On a whim comprised of great quantities of masochism, I signed up yesterday to turn in a story this morning (which means it will be one of the stories workshopped Monday.) I felt it was a "rude" story, with the protagonist being crass, obnoxious, and hard-bitten, and I think I vented some of my personal anger into it. I don't know how well it worked though. It took a different turn from what I'd been expecting, and I'm thinking maybe I copped out in parts. But it came in at 5000 words--3500 of that written yesterday. (I sliced out about 500 that had already been written.) So anyway, even if it sucks, I think it was a stretch for me, and a different type of story for me (very hardsf/cyberpunky.)

Oh well. I could agonize about the things I didn't do with it til the cows come home, but I'll go ahead and turn it in.

We had a communal meal last night, organized and cooked by Chiara. Extremely fun bonding/talking/eating experience. Paul joined us, and afterward we had all sorts of hysterical conversations about sex, writing, chocolate, aliens, godzilla, clarion... Really hard to convey how fun it was, especially on three hours sleep, but suffice to say it will be one of the Way Cool Clarion Memories. We had camera wars too, of everyone wanting pictures and then everyone taking pictures of the people taking pictures.

We're only a week in and we've already reached Really Silly.

Chris: he doesn't think so though his agent does, been hearing about it for the past three months, and finished but so far unsold.

Margaret: Way cool! Mine right now is a Bierstadt(sp?) painting of Yellowstone (or maybe it's Yosemite.)

Alan: I don't know if I could in all consciensce inflict that much garlic-breath on my fellow classmates.

Vera: $13.47. I love it! There're several, but only one has potential.

Mom: Lion is on the only piece of metal in the room right now.

Tamela: Get back to work!
