I went running yesterday. I'm going to have to do something about this once a week stuff. My legs hurt far too much when I only do it once a week. But the track is nice, and the weather has been beautiful. I don't see how I'm going to get much time to do any exercise this week though. It's already shaping up to be an unbelievably busy week. We met George R.R. Martin last night, and it sounds like he's going to be very interesting, and also very different from Paul Park. He talks a bit more about the commercial side of writing and also the Hollywood end of it. But, where Paul wanted us to write two stories in one week, George wants to see longer stories. He wants to see 8-10K words, with fully developed plots/characters/themes. I signed up to turn in a story on Thursday, so I'm going to be busting my ass a bit. I have only about 700 words written on it now, but I do have the whole thing semi-outlined (something I don't usually do, but since this one is probably going to be longer, I figured I should at least jot down some notes.)

But writing and reading are not the only activities this week. Tonight some of us are going to make a (probably very brief and token) appearance at a gallery showing that one of our fellow Clarioners is having (photography type stuff, I think.) Tuesday is the reading at Elliot Bay Bookstore, which I may pass on this week, the reasoning being that I can listen to George read at Worldcon. Depends on how my story is going. Wednesday night is going to be a big pizza dinner/gathering where George is going to talk to us about writing for film and TV, and have a general question/answer session. Thursday we are going to take a tour of the Wizards of the Coast offices, and then Friday is the weekly party.

AKKK!
