Well, yesterday was Connie Willis's last day with us. This week really just flew by, but once again I learned tons and tons. Not only is Connie a superb writer, but she's also an excellent teacher. She was able to articulate and quantify the bare bones of how to organize a plot, and how to make a story gripping and interesting. I now know how to analyze other literature for the plot devices and methods that she demonstrated to us.

Have I mentioned lately that I'm having the time of my life here?

We met our next instructor, Lucy Sussex, at the party last night. It's hard to get a feel for someone's personality at a crowded, noisy party, but she seems like she's going to be a lot of fun, and give us a new perspective on publishing/writing. She got in early so she could have a couple of days to try and get over jet lag, since she came all the way from Australia. It's a bit hard for us all to believe that we're about to start the fourth week.

Time in a pressure cooker is variable.

This weekend will be a tad more relaxing for me. There were only two stories turned in on Friday, one of which was mine, which means I only have one story to critique for Monday.

Of course, I am signed up to turn in a story on Tuesday, and I have yet to come up with a story for the premise I have, so it may yet become frantic.

I was going to be virtuous and go running today, since I seem to be doing my best to put back on some of the weight I lost (AIIEEE!!!), but when I woke up this morning it was raining, so I guess I'm off the hook.
