Yesterday was Signing and Sushi. After class, a group of us trooped down Broadway to the US Bank, where I went in and got my divorce papers notarized. Then we all went down to a most excellent sushi place, and gorged ourselves on raw fish and other delectables. I am really kind of glad that this whole divorce thing is coming to a close while I'm here. I couldn't ask for a more solid support group. * * * * * On a slightly surreal note, I had an ex-boyfriend get in touch with me yesterday, asking me if I was going to be at his wedding. Very strange timing. * * * * * It's been pretty rainy the past couple of days. I'm getting tons of use out of the rain-jacket that my mother sent to me. * * * * * My story drifts along. It's complicated, and I'm having to keep my stack of notes right beside me, to make sure I don't screw up any of the technical details. I also seem to be writing this story backwards. I knew how I wanted it to end, so I jotted some notes down--which turned into the actual last scene. Then when I started trying to write it beginning to end, it just wouldn't come, so I wrote the next-to-last scene. Now I have a fairly decent idea of what I want to go in the middle, so I have this feeling that the first scene is going to be the last one I write. * * * * * This morning it was Group Sing in the shower. The men's and women's showers are side-by-side, separated by a solid partition that sound travels through easily. Eric started it, then Burke joined in, then Tamela and I joined in with "The Sound of Music." I left when Tamela started singing "Froggy came a courtin'." |
