Just a quick entry to say that I won't be making an entry for about a week or so. The Mom and I are going to be getting on a plane in about 3 hours to fly up North to Boston. Once in Boston we are going to rent a car, and start driving up through New Hampshire, Maine, New Brunswick, Quebec, and then back down to Massachusetts.

There are only two reasons for this trip. This first is that I've never been to that part of the country (nor, I think, has my Mom, at least the Maine/Canada portion.) Second is that when I realized I had a couple of holiday days coming to me, and could thus take nearly a week off due to the way my schedule works, it was the middle of July, heat indices were in the 120s, and we looked at the map with all the color coded temperatures--with Louisiana in deep ugly hot red--and decided that we were going to go someplace that had Green temperatures. Thus New England.

And no, I'm not going to be bringing my laptop to make entries as I travel, since this is now my only computer and I don't want to risk something untoward happening to it. Not to mention the fact that I simply don't want to lug the damn thing around! So, I'll be out of touch email-wise for a week or so. If anything dire happens, try and get it onto CNN.
