So, yesterday I was seriously tired, and I crawled into bed as soon as I got home--something I seldom do since it screws up my sleep cycle and makes it difficult for me to get to sleep later. Usually if I'm tired I'll get on the couch for an hour's nap or so, but I was wiped out and achy, so I actually went to bed (complete with dog to take up 3/4s of the bed.) I slept a lovely four or so hours, woke up feeling much better and far less achy in general, got dressed, packed my gym bag, and drove down to the gym.

And drove past the gym and kept going. I figured that was as much working out as I needed. I went back home, and went back to bed. Ah, sleep. Bliss.

Forgive me, Myke. I was weak.

This is how strange Louisiana is: They recently passed a law toughening up the seatbelt requirements, and making it so that failure to wear a seatbelt is a primary offense, i.e. you can be pulled over for not wearing one. (Most places it's a secondary offense, meaning that you can only be ticketed for failure to wear one if you've been pulled over for something else.) Okay, no biggie. But, at the same time, they did away with the helmet laws for motorcyclists. Now, motorcyclists can go sans helmet as long as they have $10,000 in personal health insurance.

Weird.

And this weekend is Labor Day weekend, the day that celebrates the nation's workforce by giving them the day off.

I have to work, of course. Now, I don't really mind having to work, expecially since I get double-time, but I do wish everything else didn't shut down for the holiday weekend. The gym is closed Sat, Sun, and Mon (which makes my delinquency on Friday a greater sin.) There is, of course, no mail delivery on Monday. The library is closed Monday as well. Even my dog's obedience school has been cancelled for that day.

Maybe I'll just sleep through it.
