![]() The Sewer That Ate My Camera. ![]() Well, the move is finally completely over. Yesterday I brought the last few straggling bits of junk over from the old place, and now I can focus on cleaning this place up and putting all of my crrrraaap away. Ye gods, this place is a mess! Plus, I've already discovered that my first major purchase is going to have to be a washer and dryer. It's too time consuming to take my laundry over to my parents' house, and I severely miss being able to run a quick load of whites right before I go to bed. (Put laundry in before bed. Upon waking put wash in dryer. By the time it's time to get dressed, laundry is done and does not even need to be ironed.) ![]() I went and joined a gym yesterday. Actually, I'm on their free two-week trial membership, but unless I find something truly disgusting about this place I'm sure I'll join it. For one thing it's one of the cheaper ones around. It doesn't have pools or saunas, and it's not very big, but I don't need all that. It's also within comfortable bicycling distance, so I can hopefully get the semi-aerobic benefit too. But the big thing that sold me on this place was the fact that when I went down to look around, the place was almost totally empty. That's perfect for me. I hate a crowded gym, and I hate it when people come up and talk to me when I'm working out. I was going to bicycle there today, but the sales rep for the house security system was coming over in the afternoon, and I wasn't sure how long it would take me to bike there and back, so today I just drove. And this time when I got there, the place was completely empty, and stayed that way through most of my workout. (It helps that I go in mid-afternoon, when most normal people with normal jobs are at them.) So anyway, in case you haven't guessed, I'm back on the big diet/exercise crunch. I'm hoping to drop 20 pounds by February--that's two pounds a week. Fairly doable, I think. I'm just considering this Part Two of the diet/exercise crunch I did this past spring. |
