I'm kicking myself for not putting a counter on my health-dare page. Lately I've become a bit curious as to whether anyone besides the dare-ers themselves are following it at all. Back in November 1997 I did a novel dare, where the dare was to write a novel of 60,000 words or more in one month. In the past couple of weeks I've noticed some marked differences between that dare and this one (besides the basic concepts.)

Maybe this is different because people who aren't participating feel guilty for not participating? I dunno. It certainly wasn't meant to make anyone feel that way. The point of this dare is self-improvement--just as the novel dare was self-improvement of an intellectual nature. Maybe people think all of this diet-exercise shit is just so much narcicissm? If so, then what do you call wanting to see your name and work in print?

Ah well. Never mind. I'm just a bit baffled.
