The new computer is here! (And a whole lot sooner than I expected!)It's fast.. Wheeee! Whiz bang pow zoom! It is, literally, ten times faster than my old desktop PC. Woohoo! Needless to say I'm pretty jazzed about finally having a real computer again. It took me hardly any time to set up, and once I had the time to sit down and mess with things, I got my various needed programs downloaded and I am now darn near set to go. I'm still hoping to recover data off of my other hard drives. I haven't had a chance to check my backups and see how much I lost. This new computer has a CD burner on it though, so I intend to be absolutely friggin fanatical about backing up my data. I'm sick of losing stuff. ![]() In other news, the dare is almost over. I expect (hope) to have my "after" pics posted by this Monday. (I still don't have a scanner so I have to borrow the use of one.) I definitely made progress. Huge quantities of progress. I have people coming up to me who haven't seen me in a few months telling me that they barely recognize me. My uniforms are hanging off of me, and I have very few articles of clothing that fit. I love it! I'm now skinnier than I was when I got married. I can run three miles with ease. I have defined abdominals. I've lost that "crease" in my butt, and I can now pinch the fat on my legs instead of grabbing huge handfuls. I feel better about myself than I have in a very long time. And I don't think there's any way i would have stuck with it so diligently if not for the dare and for having to post my efforts and intake on a (mostly) daily basis. ![]() I'm taking a couple of days off next week--and with the way my schedule falls that basically gives me the entire week off. I plan on doing some serious yardwork and housework. (As well as the usual working out.) Not that anyone ever comes to my house, but if that should ever happen, I'd like for them to not be disgusted. |
