I had the incredibly noble goal of going to the gym early this morning since I wasn't scheduled to go to work until 10am. I even set the alarm clock for 6:30am and went to bed early. But when the alarm went off I was so damn cozy and comfy that I reached over and reset it for 8:30--telling myself that I would nobly go to the gym after work at 6pm. Yeah, right. I came home, stripped off the duty belt, ballistic vest and polyester uniform, and donned the comfy sweats. I'll go tomorrow. Really. Arggg... no, I really will. I can already feel next summer looming, and I want to make a good showing (i.e. Win!) in this coming season's competitions. I didn't do very well on the diet yesterday, but I'm counting football games as being exempt diet-wise. (Good thing there are only a few more of them!) I know I put a good deal of muscle on this off-season, but I'm really not going to know just how much until I start taking the fat off. It's just really friggin' hard to drag oneself to the gym after a shift, knowing that the alarm is set for 3:30am the next morning. At least tomorrow I'll know that I can sleep in the following day. ![]() I've been discovering a variety of new journals through Holidailies. I highly doubt I'll read them all (who has that much free TIME??) but I am making note of the ones that appeal to me and to my "taste" in journals. I like journals that give me some insight into the journaller's personality and personal life. I don't care for the "journals" that are just a couple of scrawled sentences about what they did that day. I admit it--I'm a nosy bitch. That's actually one of the reasons I like my job so much: I'm allowed (and at times required) to be a nosy bitch! I also like journal designs that make it easy to go back and read older entries. I've discovered, to my dismay, that some do not allow you to check even the previous day's entry. I don't have time every day to read journals--it's going to be tricky enough just finding time to do an entry every day. So I tend to do catch-up reading of journals on my days off. ![]() I've decided to upgrade to a cable modem--assuming all the current legal messes get straightened out. Charter is offering a pretty sweet deal right now, and even after the price goes back up to the normal monthly rate, it will still be cheaper than what I have now, since I'll be able to ditch my second phone line. Not to mention the gazzillion times faster connection. (I have 28.8 now... gaaah!) |
