I want everyone to think REAL hard. When was the last time you saw Cheney? I have a private theory that he's dead (or seriously ill with a heart-attack) and has been so since 9-11 or shortly thereafter. I think that he's kaput and the Powers That Be are trying to pull a "Dave" (as in the movie) on the country, because they don't think the country can "handle" a crisis of that nature considering the present goings-on. I'm betting that sometime early next year it will suddenly be announced that Cheney has fallen ill.. and whoops, yeah, he just died. Supposedly he's in "hiding" in an undisclosed location. Yeah, right. I think he's hiding six-feet under. Heh. Now that I have that rumor started... ![]() Kelly called me last night to see if I wanted to workout sometime today--which was good because I'd been meaning to call her during the day but had never gotten around to it with work and stuff. She was training a client from 8:30am to 9:30 am, and since I had to be back home by noon (since the cable guy is supposedly coming by between noon and 5 to install my cable modem) we planned on 9:30. I got up there a little early while she was still with her client and just went through about 20 minutes of abs while she finished up. But then just as she was wrapping it up her cellphone went off--her daughter calling from school to inform her that she'd jammed a finger playing cabbage ball. So Kelly had to leave to tend to the Kid, and we rescheduled our chest workout for tomorrow. (Note for newer readers: Kelly and I usually only manage to coordinate our freaky schedules about once a week, so on the day we do get to work out together, we do chest, since we're both trying to go pretty heavy and that's the one day we really want a good spotter.) Not too big a deal for me since I've been slack on my workouts lately; it's not like that threw my whole "routine" off or anything. I just worked shoulders and biceps instead. I'm starting to feel like I'm back in the swing of the hard-and-heavy workouts. I've even been good on my eating the past few days. Made my protein pancakes this morning (which would have turned out a lot better if I'd used the right pan. I used the cheap-ass pan instead and so the pancakes did much sticking to the pan and did not end up very pretty.) My protein pancakes (and yes, I know this is going to sound disgusting, but they're really not bad at all, and they pack of terrific nutritional wallop) consist of: approx 2/3 cup of egg whites (I buy the cartons of egg whites from Walmart--easier than separating them on my own), one scoop of vanilla protein powder, one packet of Splenda, three handfuls of oatmeal (about 3/4 cup), and a splash of skim milk. Blend thoroughly (in a blender--blending by hand doesn't work at all), makes about three decent size pancakes with about 60 grams of protein, 45 grams of carbs, and 6 grams of fiber. ![]() Well, I'm getting all sorts of various chores done around the house while I wait for Cable Guy. Transferred a bunch of files to my hard drive that have been sitting around on disks. I need to pick up some cds tonight and then burn said files onto cds (since these files have some serious sentimental value and I do not want to lose them.) Cleaned my kitchen, vacuumed the entire house. Even did some cursory cleaning of the bathroom. Considered washing the dog, but decided that was not the kind of chore I could stop in the middle of in the event Cable Guy finally showed up. |
