I have cable modem now! Zoooommm!!!

I managed to drag my lazy ass out of bed at 6:30 this morning to run. Only did three miles since it's been a while since I've done any running (the last time was November 7th--which I had not realized until I was entering today's run in my running log.) The distance part of it didn't bother me as far as endurance goes, but my knees hurt for the first half mile, and then again for the last half mile. Just my body's way of telling me to start taking my glucosamine again. It was only about 60 degrees, however it was 100% humidity. Gaaahh.

Went home, showered, then met Kelly at the gym at 9:30 to work chest and triceps. Didn't do any cardio after my workout since I also have my dance class this evening. However, I did give the dog a bath after coming home from the gym--which is an aerobic activity in itself.

I expect to sleep well tonight.

The SWAT team is having tryouts again in January and since I now have enough time with the department to qualify I'm submitting a letter of intent. I don't really expect to get on the team my first time trying out, but it should be an interesting experience. That's another reason why I've been making myself hit it harder in the gym and on the track. I'm certainly not as big or as strong as most of the guys on the team, but I know that I'm in better shape and have more endurance than a bunch of those guys. I also need to practice my shooting; my last few qualifying scores have been dismally below my usual expert performance.

I am totally not motivated to go to my dance class tonight, but I can't blow it off since I've already blown it off for the last... oh... four weeks. I've already decided to drop out of the ballet class. Two classes a week is just too much, and the ballet isn't really giving me that much in the way of exercise or potential benefit for a routine. I don't think I'll keep taking the jazz class after next spring either. I'm simply not a dancer! I'd love to get into a couples-dance class and learn Salsa or something... but that also kinda requires a partner.

Story of my life. Hehehe.
