Conversations From
the Back Seat

On a quick trip to Vermont, we got these pictures. We decided to drive up and see some relatives on Columbus Day because the kids were off from school.

You'd think after a lifetime spent in New England, I'd have known better. Columbus Day weekend is prime foliage time, and for some reason, people think the leaves in Vermont are different from the leaves in Connecticut. Bumper to bumper traffic in downtown Bennington. 'Nuff said.

Since we'd bumbled into the leaf-peeping zone, we decided to blend into the landscape, and on the way home pulled off to take these pictures. It was on Route 7 heading south, I believe just over the Vermont border into Massachusetts.
