Bus Route C (1)

Seated
I watch passing landscapes:
hills hinting of grass
bare-branched trees
naked limbs shivering
in the wind
houses drift by

I watch passing abstracts:
green-tinged curves
forked lightning
inverted and brown
boxes triangles squares

I read the graffiti:
'stop smiling in the mirror
look over yonder . . .'
At the neon & paint?
'Food'? 'Takeaways'?
'The young gene ration'?
where to look?
'hair hair hair'
'impulse flowers'
& when the bus pulls away
from another stop
I walk unfamiliar streets
